Annie Waring
Annie Waring’s paintings have an informal air, flowers in jars and pots are gathered from plants flowering side by side in her garden. The flowers reflect the seasons and her love of British flora.

Annie will also paint fruits and ceramics, always simple objects, simply placed. Light and reflection and the textures of the negative space interest her and her confident strokes capture the essence of the subject to create compositions with a quiet stillness.

Annie studied printed textile design at Middlesex Polytechnic in the early 1980’s. She went on to design and hand paint her own bone china tableware sold in Liberty, Harrods and Thomas Goode. Recently Annie has returned to painting, the root of all her design work. She works from a studio at home in Sussex and shows across the south of England.
